My style of therapy is collaborative.

I believe that everyone has a unique story and that although I have a lot of theoretical knowledge, you are the best source of knowledge about yourself. We will work together to understand your past and create a present and future around your determined priorities and goals.

I view each person I meet as possessing a unique path for growth and it is my privilege to be including in discovering that path.

I believe in the holistic approach to wellness; that best treatment addresses the whole person, body, mind, spirit. I practice a non-judgemental attitude toward the past, believing that the past is part of each of us, but the present is where the work happens. I’ve worked with a variety of mental health challenges including addiction, trauma, crisis management and personality disorders. My theoretical preference is a client-centred perspective; meaning that I believe that each person has what they need, but sometimes they lose track of it. I bring empathy, patience and hope to my work with clients and am comfortable working with a variety of concerns such as depression, anxiety, dissociation, and loss.

I have training and experience working with both children and adolescents as well as adults.

Although I am not currently working with children, I have worked with children and adolescents within Child Protective Services, most of whom live with multiple and complex traumas. I have found that with acceptance and hope, people can move on from the past and live with integrity in the present.
